Davidson, Thomas MW Men's Basketball Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS — Nevada sophomore Nick Davidson was selected the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 5-11. UNLV’s Dedan Thomas Jr., earned the Freshman of the Week honors.

MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NICK DAVIDSON, NEVADA

Sophomore, Forward, Mission Viejo, Cal./Mater Dei HS

— Led Nevada to a 2-0 record with victories over then-No. 22 Utah State, 77-63, and then-no. 24 San Diego State (70-66)

. It marked the first time in program history to defeat ranked teams in consecutive games.

— Averaged 19.5 poi9nts and 7.5 erboundw ere game, while shooting 66.7 percent from the field.

— Against the Aggies, he scored a career high 25 points, and also had 10 rebounds and two steals.

— Record 14 points and five rebounds against the Aztecs.

MEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

— Helped UNLV to win a at then-No. 25 New Mexico (80-77).

— Scored career-best 25 points with an 8-for-12 shooting performance.

— Record four assists and two rebounds.
