Cowboy Classic Cut Short By By Lighting, Wyoming Finishes 21st Out Of 23 Entries

MARICOPA, Ariz.  (April 2, 2024) – The Pokes wrapped up action at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Tuesday finishing the second round and the third round after lighting shortened action on Monday. UW fired a 292 (+4) in the second round and the same in the final round for a three-round total of 877 (+13) to finish 21st in the 23-team field.

 

Wyoming was led in the final round by Kristof Panke with a 68 (-4) for a three-round total of 223 (+7). Patrick Azevedo added a 73 (+1) for the final round and finished at 221 (+5). Jaren Calkins shot a 75 (+3) on Tuesday for the final round for a three-round total of 221 (+5) to finish tied for 87th place. 

 

Jimmy Dales was Wyoming’s top finisher in a tie for 77th place at 220 (+4) he shot a 76 (+4) on Tuesday and had even par rounds in the opening two rounds. Davis Seybert added a 77 (+5) for the final round. Evan Johnson finished with an 82 (+10) for the final round.

 

Grand Canyon took the team event with an 833 (-31). UNLV placed second at 835 (-29) with Iowa State in third at 836 (-28). Yuki Moriyama of UNLV was the champion shoot a 199 (-17) and shot a 64 (-8) for the final round.

 

Wyoming returns to action April 8 and 9 at the Tiger Collegiate Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
